Key Fob Battery

My key Fob is acting sporadic and does not always open/lock the doors. Occasionaly I have to extract the key and manually open the doors (no problem...but I can't use my confort access to lock it when I want). Does anyone know (besides the dealership) where I could find a key Fob Battery? TIA

go to cvs or rite aid and go to the battery section. the battery looks like a thin nickel. it'll cost about 4-5 bucks

How do you open the Key Fob to acces the battery? I was messing with it a little bit and Im tempted to use a screwdriver to pry it open to see what kind of battery it needs...

I had an appt at BMW for something else today and I told them about the key...they said woudl replace BOTH fobs if I bring them in when I pick up the car...for free! They said it was covered under the warranty....go figure. But still I appreciate your info bc EVENTUALLY I am going to have to pay for this...

battery is cr2032... 3-5 dollars most stores...

remove the key and when looking at the holder from the top where the key was removed, there is a small notch that can be pried open to remove the battery door panel... use a nail or screw driver and it will pop out to reveal the battery

I'm assuming this pic has the buttons facing up...

interestingly in your case i don't see the notch in the pic... basically it's a small slot on the bottom of the opening...

you're sure you have Comfort access? only CA cars have replaceable batteries... the rest have built in rechargeable batteries
