A good point, however, the object of the hard work and time should have been focused on a different type of vehicle or shown at a different type of show, like a "Dub" show.

The modifications on that car were out of step with the 99% of the cars at Bimmerfest. Most of us are about performance enhancements not bling. The trophies that were brought and displayed were completely out of place. The funny thing is, that "Tony" just doesn't get it as evidenced by his starting this thread.

Bottom line is the Bimmer community does not endorse or support that kind of scene in any way, shape or form.

Well I don't agree w/ all of you hating on his car. We all have different taste. Everyone including my self may think that should of been a honda civic etc but who cares?
It's not your car and that guy put so much money, time and energy into his car. The least you could do is respect him for the effort and love for his car. He loves his bmw just as much as we love ours.

p.s. I didn't get to see this car in person. So I didn't get a REAL close look either.

Hey, I agree with you on on respect for the craftsmanship that went into the car, and the love for his car, however we are all entitled to not like it. If you want to liken it to art, there is a lot of modern artwork out there, also commanding big money that is grotesque, and I hate it also.

What can I say, I'm more of a traditionalist. The two nicest cars at the show were the two 3.0CSL, the orange and grey ones. The blue IND-distributing M3 was awesome too, (see the Autopies Bimmerfest top 20 list #1).

I don't think we are really in disagreement. The guy does have customization skills, and I respect his ability, but not his taste in BMWs. If he wants appreciation for that type of work, I'm sure he would get it at a HIN or DUB show, but not here.

well hes working on a m3 now but for bimmerfest type not show..hes gonna rebuilt his car soon and repaint it and take out the animals skins..and get 19s staggered

Exactly! Everyone has their own taste, if we did not then bimmerfest would be pretty darn plain and dull looking at all the same cars, i really give him props for the amount of work and money he put into the car. It is not my style but it is HIS car not ours, Alot of people dont really like my car but its my taste.

Geez guys, we're not talking about banning the guy or not letting him in next year, most of just think the car is Fugly. Just as he is entitled to do what he wants to his own car, we're entitled not to like it.

I like your car too, ....except the roundel. I am against it when people change the color of the roundel to something other than blue and white (just kidding) . Like I said I am a traditionalist.

Really? You want to post a poll on several BMW boards and see just what the consensus is?

And as far as respect goes, with all due respect, I have no respect for that car or the owner's taste. It's downright ghetto and doesn't belong on the road.

I have no respect for anything that compromises the safety or integrity of the vehicle and those in or around the vehicle which includes myself if sharing the same roads.

The whole styling/theme of his car is another story altogether

That said, I do not like the way it looks. It's simply not for me. But that's fine, right? I don't own it and I don't drive it. So, what the hell does my opinion count for anyhow.

I've done things to my cars in the past that I am sure didn't please everyone. Oh, well. I modify my cars for me -- and no one else.

I heard people talking crap about the car. My hunch is that this car didn't play well at Bimmerfest. I do think that it would do very well at HIN, though. Time and place, yada, yada, yada.

I wanted to see if the hood of my car could fit under its front bumper from how high it was
