How do I get the new key to work with the old one?

I know how to activate the new key and how to make it remember seat and mirror settings. The problem is this; when I reset my new key the old key will not work (lock/unlock) etc. If I reset the old key then the new key will no longer lock/unlock the car. How can I get both keys to work the car? Any advice short of taking the keys to the dealer?

Thanks for you help.

By "reset the key" I assume you mean you performed the key initialization procedure? You need to initialize all the keys in the sequence - if you leave one out, the car "forgets" about that one.

Thanks I figured it out

You don't need to put each key in the ignition just the first one.
