My opinion is somewhere between or at San Luis Obispo and Monterey/Santa Cruz

That would give a [small/short] drive for both Nor/So-Cal'ers.

If we did it in the Fall, perhaps a campground in a secluded area of SoCal could work -- somewhere like Lake Piru?
Then, for a "drive" there would be many possibilities, so many country roads around there off of HWY 126 and Ojai, ...etc.

word, my friends and I threw a really big event (concert) at lake piru a few weeks ago - I am sure I could get you some friendly contacts if need be. Ojai has some beautiful roads (and hot springs )

we should really have a bimmerfest meet up in norcal. good bbq weather, good routes for drives, lots of friendly people....and ohhh, give SoCal people the chance to experience a great caravan just like we do...

Location suggestions I would prefer in order:

1) Laguna Seca/Monterey Peninsula
2) SLO / Pismo Beach area
3) All Other Cal locations

I suspect that anyone looking for a location other than Santa Barbara should probably start organizing their own event right way...

(having said that, us BayBimmerz folks should probably plan a Tyrolean Inn trip sometime after Erik returns to UCSC next Fall on the off chance we might be able to lure his old man to drive North and visit)

I would be down. How about something on the coast? Morro Bay... Got the beautiful PCH right there, and the Hearst Castle. Or maybe something like Solvang with a cruise down the backside of the mountains into Ojai.
