Lake Casitas might be a good spot. Close to Good driving and lot's of space for parking and picnicing etc.

If this is Sat-Sun & Holidays Easter W/e thru Labor Day ( read every Sat and Sun during summer) - $15 Last time when we was there - we just pay $15/p car, drive true park until we found empty table ( was 4 cars with 17 ppl) - no need reservation. But after 10 am - all empty tables (in the shades) with BBQ grill near by was taken.
