Luggage compartment roller shade, 2011

Does anyone else noticed that it does not come with the car?

Not until I saw the disclaimer on a piece of paper did I bothered to look and realize it's not there! Absolutely insane, I didn't see that as an option either, and to rub it in more, my X3 had that, comes standard!

Just curious, as I am getting ready to order a 2011......what paper was the disclaimer? Is there a physical slot for the shade in the back. My 2010 had one, as well as every other SUV around.

The car I just picked up has a cargo cover.

Its printed (offset not laser) on official BMW letterhead (so its not from the dealer), it said the vehicle does not come with the cover and another thing (which I don't remember what its was), will look it up when I get back. I am going to be calling my sales guy now to see whatsup. Only he's off today and tomorrow.

I don't think they forgot to put it on the assembly line, if they did then how do you explain the letter?

Yes, there is the slot / rail for it.

Mine is 35i Sport, Tech, Convenience, Smart Phone.

Are you all talking about the exact same model? (ie motor and trim levels)

I won't tell him about the discliamer and just say that its missing, we shall see what he'll say.

Mine CA tells me it will not come with it and it's $600 if I want it. He says bmw is not including it with the car anymore?!?! I've ordered a base 2011 35d with hardly any options. Maybe this is why? Is it coming with a specific package now?

WTF?! There are two posters from above that said they have it. So what's the option / package that contains this cover?

I have it in mine. My dealer said I was lucky I got it as they were pulling it out and making it separate.

That sucks... that means there was a month or so production range where the X5 came with the roller shade. Mine was a build 17 week.

Yeah... ridiculous... I'm thinking it's being delivered with the car, but removed and resold to make an extra buck. Please keep us posted. I don't pick up til end of the month. where is the fine print showing this no longer comes with the car?

I have the 3rd row and mine did come with it. Had to remove it to use the 3rd row. Probably will sit in my garage unused.

$600 is nuts for that thing. I hope we find it is included in one of the packages, eg: premium, or other, or better yet this is a supplier hiccup, and has not been communicated. I am trying to be optimistic.

I can also confirm they did delete the 6 disc DVD from premium sound with no real notification. (And no price drop - still $1800)
Not that I'm missing it, its just the principle!

Does anyone have a list of standard features that shows it includes the roller? This ticks me off too, I have just placed my order so likely my 35i won't get it if it has been removed from the line.

Without this, how do I have any private trunk space? Anyone will just be able to look into my rear view windows and see the contents of my cargo.

Hey I know, I can just carry around a blanket and throw it over the top of the cargo in the back of my $60,000 SUV
