2011 led angel eyes
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_10352wt_822
Does anyone have any experience with this product? It says plug & play, no wire cutting, but more expensive as they are made in Korea and not the cheaper ones from China.

Makes a big difference and I have saved the link as I pick my X up next week. I don't plan to do too many mods but this could be one.

Same here. Also will upgrade the license plat to LED if not included on 2011 by MTEC. No one answered me when I asked on this board last time. So does 2011 come with LED license Plate.........? Also I will upgrade the fog lights to MTEC 4350 K. I've used them on my 750 and they match xeons. I upgraded my 2001 x5 fog lights to 5000K xenons, too much work and not enough room for blaster and capicitior. So I will just upgrade the bulb..... Will post photos.

0428, do you think these are brighter than the GP thunders? I have the GP thunders on my e92 and they are nice (and inexpensive), but would like them to be a tad brighter... not sure if you have a basis for comparison though...

Do you have the GP Thunder LED's or the quartz ion bulb. I just ordered teh quarts ion bulb, if they don't look good I am going to spring for the LED's.

Hmmmm scroll down to the 4th post in this thread:
http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7504427 Do they look brighter than this or about the same? I think in this shot he has GP Thunders on passenger side and PIAA's on Driver Side. |

I would say about the same. Go w/LED as they last much longer and consume less electric than reg halogen.

Has anybody tried the PIAA LED lights? Appear to be about $230, but seem to have recalled some ideal results on forums... worth the price to me if they're bright, perfectly white, cool, and reliable.
I'm having trouble tracking down the "gold standard" for these replacements - lots of different opinions, vague results, no real consensus. Guess it's just a niche product?

I feel your pain!! I've seen the PIAA's and there nice at night but real dim during the day. I decided to go with GP quartz and their new LED, should be here soon. I'll do a side by side with them them in and post some pics for ya! From everything I've read so far GP quartz sound like the best bang for your buck!

I can't imagine they would build these to give errors when 80% of their market is probably BMW owners but who knows. |

Ya I haven't heard of anyone getting errors with the quartz, but I haven't heard of anyone with the LED ones yet. I see a few people have ordered them, so I'm sure we'll be hearing more and more about them. I hope they don't throw up any errors!!

First of all, thank you, thank you, you are far too kind.
Second of all, I am no expert in anything, if I was then I would be pimping these LEDs on a 35d instead, just ask hsindoggiedog about it. ![]() Lastly, to answer your question, here's the deal: I have no experiences with lux, Piaa, GPT, Larry or Moe, so I cannot say to you or anyone that my LEDs are better or worst. All I can say is that I did my research and came to the conclusion that they are the "best" for me. Would I recommend it? Yes. Are they better than GPT? ![]() Ps I am no shill for jdmtoy, as I only get a 5% kickback as opposed to the customary 20%.

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge, but I haven't taken delivery on my X5d yet to be able to poke around under the hood yet.
Like someone stated above, this will probably be one of the only "mods" I will make to the car. Does the halo have a separate bulb from the high/low beams? What K are the stock HID lights? When you replace the halo, do you need to change the high/low beam to match? THANKS in advance! |

The bulbs for the halos are separate from the hi/low beams.
