angel eye question

hey everyone
im new to the forum

i got a 528i E39 2000 model car

the stock headlights were some crappy ones
then i changed it to a hid kit

but after some researching i have decided to invest some money on getting angel eyes
the question is that i dont know what i need to buy

do i need to get the rings and the bulb????

or do the hid kit light up the rings so that i just need to buy the rings

thanks heaps everyone

i will post a photo of my car asap
cheers

Marco

Hi there,

For prefacelift units, you can go with our WeissLicht LED rings. Basically you will open up the headlight and install these rings, and wire them with the parking lights with wire taps.

Here's some pics installed on my car.

For the record, this question was asked today over in the E46 side of the house:
- E46 (1999 - 2006) > Angel Eyes

I post the answer from there over here so all benefit:

If you want something cheap the Orion lite's are the way to go but they are not as bright and do not have as many colour options. Most people will say that the Orion V2's are the best angel eyes on the market and they are quite bright and let you choose between 6 colours. They also include lifetime warranty if I'm not mistaken.
Now for which ones will fit your car, there is a drop down menu on both pages that let you choose what model you have (or closest) so you'd probably be looking at choosing the 2000-2003 E46 Sedan option and then if there may be an option for if you have halogen or xenon headlamps. There are also pictures if you scroll down to see comparisons of the angel eyes or you can always google for pictures

For the cross-linked record, this post today over here:
- E39 (1997 - 2003) > Angel Eye

... has some pretty decent information about angel-eye replacements ...

The information there isn't really anything new. It's a RacingDash product that isn't very bright or reliable.

This question came up today ...

2. Whats the best wiring location so that I can have these as DRL's. Mine didn't have them but I don't want to have to carry a remote all the time to turn them on and off manually.

Thanks!
