Highest Quality Matte Black Grille?

There seem to be lots of options out there for matte black front grilles. Which company has the best price and highest quality grille? Thanks in advance!

i got mine from stealth auto and it looks good.. but don't know if it's the best quality...

others have bought from ebay for much cheaper and are happy with it too..

Yeah, prices seem to range from $65 (ebay) to $220 (stealth auto)... I want to order one today,, just don't want to get crap.

i purchased mine from e-92 lighting, and am pleased with the quality. I also purchased, at the same time, the matte black side grilles, and am pleased with that quality as well.

bought front and side matte black grilles on ebay and they're great

Got mine on ebay as well 65 bucks. Looks great.

you should consider aluminum racing pedals... i thought they would be so so but it makes a huge difference when you walk up to the car top down and see the nice shiny pedals from outside

I would love to upgrade my pedals. I know there are a TON of options out there. Any opinions on the "best" pedals for the $$$?

i got mine from stealth auto but I think the ebay ones are just as good...

I like that design better than the OEM option...

the options are

1. OEM style
2. ACS style with or without M logo... (most of the ebay ones are ACS style)

Are the matt black ones basically oem grills sprayed matt black? I'm asking coz the blades then to flex and if its sprayed, flexing will reveal the chrome surface underneath and over time will start to peel. Thats what happened to my gloss black grills (which unfortunately were sprayed...had it resprayed 3 times and it's still happening).

the matte griles are matte black through and through. rock chips wuldnt do a thing

DANG! Thanks. Might be worth getting the matt black ones and spraying them gloss black. It might hold the paint much better. Thanks for the headsup. Sick to going back to respray over and over again, despite it being free of charge.

make sure you buy them and sand them and then paint them. they will hold much better

ive gone through both, bought the aftermarket matt black ones from a local tuner, and they dont sit right, was dissapointed, i still have them but need to return them back. So i ended up with the oem chrome ones resprayed, no matter how much u sand them down and acid it down the chromw will not hold the paint for long. mine started to flake off after 2 weeks, so got them resprayed. but there is a huge difference bewteen oem and aftermarket fitment, unless ofcourse u got better ones. or may be im just too particular...lol

does yours leave any gaps round the fender? because mine did hence I got the OEMs sprayed matt black until it chips off again. Il try post a pic of the finish.

no gaps. perfectly flush. maybe a diff product in the UK?

UGGGGGGGG....... Either I am the most mechanically retarded person on the planet or the $65 ebay matte black grille doesn't fit right.
I just turned a 15 minute job into a 3 hour one. Pulled off all the torx bolts and snapped off the OEM chrome grille. No prob there.
Right out of the box, the grilles from Asia look very nice. I was quite surprised for the $$.. Then I try snapping it in. The bottoms snap in and the tops won't snap. It's like they were off 1/16th of an inch or something. So I get out the dremel and start trying to sand off some of the corners of the grille tabs to make them snap in. No luck. It looked like the larger tabs weren't going in at all so I dremel'd those off completely.
Bottom line, the black grille is in there but there is a very small gap at the top of the grilles. And it's going to drive me bonkers. CRAP...

what torx bolts are you referring to? I didn't have to remove anything when I replaced mine..

mine fits really well for my tastes... the oem wasn't really perfect and this aftermarket grill was the same small gap...

All of the Torx bolts from the top of the bumper, back to the radiator beam, all on top of the front engine compartment (there were around 16 of them). I had to do this to reach behind the bumper and pop out the old grilles. I couldn't imagine installing the new grille without removing all of these.

I just used a hook to pop the clips out through the grill slots...
