Mein Auto: 2011 550i M-Sport
2011 550i M-Sport info?

I am looking to do an ED in September, and hoping that the m-sport option may be available by then. A dealer told me production would begin in September, but I have not been able to verify that anywhere else. I have not been able to find any pictures either, other than a camouflaged spy shot posted elsewhere in this forum.

Does anyone have any insight on when the M-Sport package will be available and what it encompass?

M sport needed!!

Sorry, no info. on M sport, but man is it needed. I saw the 550 sport pack at the autoshow and its got no game!. It really looks like a non sport car.

I had the E60 550 sport and that car was 99% as good looking as the M5. This F10 550 needs to flex its sheet metal...

Hopefully the M bodykit will be noticeable.

Good luck,
DRP

When the E60 first came out, the 545 sport package had no visual difference except the wheels. This is nothing new. I don't think that BMWUSA made the M-Sport stuff available on the 545/550 for several years after the E60 came out.

I just ordered a 2011 550i with the M-Sport for Oct ED delivery... I had been checking weekly for when the option would be there, and it now is available for order... Only problem is you cannot get the Sport Automatic transmission with paddles supposedly on the m-sport... anyone know if the steptronic transmission has a sport mode similar to the sport automatic? On my 2008 550i i have the m-sport with the paddles, and use the sport mode almost exclusively. I love the way it ups the RPM so you have the power when you need it. I hate to buy a new 2011 if it wont have a similar mode as the sport setting on my current car

Did you get M-Sport Suspension with that package? Is the car lower by 1/2"

I have seen pictures of the EURO M-sport package and it looks fantastic. I'm ordering it in white. I will post the pictures this week as my rep has them.

I have virtually no details on what the M-Sport packages will include. I am expecting a much sportier front and back bumpers, and some hotter wheels... but dont know if suspension will be upgraded.

My biggest concern right now is that I cannot get the shif paddles and sport automatic with it.

Anyone have any comments on the steptronic transmission? does it have a similar sport mode that pops up the RPM??

Thanks for getting back to me on your CA. I have the steptronic transmission in my current 5 and yes you can shift it over while in drive and it boosts the RPM.

Just got a 550i Euoropean delivery on 9/27/10 confirmed with paddle sport transmission and M-Sport. Unable to get dark wood trim although it is offered in the M-Sport specs. Wonder what will show up on the completed car.

Did your CA give you a complete list of the M-Sport features? Mine doesn't have any information about it other than it being available to order.

CA had a list of specs for M-Sport which included black anthracite headliner and most of the Sport Package items plus a great deal more. CA had no price but could place the order, which I did.
