Help with Individual color (Ruby Black?)

In the process of finalizing an order for a 750i with xDrive. Will be adding the Individual Package including Amaro Brown leather and Piano Black trim. Was thinking of a Ruby Black exterior, but have seen pictures where the car seems purple in strong light (which I would not like). Wondering if I'd be better off with the "standard" Black Sapphire. My business partner is ordering the exact same car and he's already claimed Azurite Black (we figure we need to pick different exterior colors). Anyone have thoughts or experience with the Ruby Black? At this point my purple fear is likely to send me to the Black Sapphire.

My last M6 was Ruby Black. Ruby Black is black with red sparkles. It does not look purple.

I have the Amaro Brown interior and chose the Citrin Black because this color had more brown than the Ruby Black. Both colors look black in the shade. In the sunlight, the Ruby Black is black with red sparkles and the Citrin Black turns very deep dark brown with gold sparkles.

Both are gorgeous colors, it all depends on what look you are trying to achieve. Personally, I think the Citrin Black is a more special color but that is my opinion only.

I like the colour combination you described - ruby black, amaro brown, and piano black - sounds gorgeous to me and you will hardly, if ever, see that combination.

Congratulations!

Thanks to you both. At the end of the day, I feared the unknown around the Ruby Black and went with the Citrin Black instead. Some photos of the Ruby Black are great, but some scared me. I think there is no way to go wrong with the Cirtin Black so thanks much for the suggestion. Same interior (Amaro Brown and Piano Black) and all the toys (adaptive cruse, luxury seating, etc). Only passed on the night vision and suspect they will only allow me the rear camera as the full camera package seems to be on lockdown pending some supplier or technical issue. It'll be my 5th BMW and my first 7 Series. Can't wait.

92: Welcome! Did you order the short wheel base or long? I will place my order (for an Individual) this Friday; let's see who's arrives first!

I ordered the regular wheelbase (felt the long was too long). They are telling me the car will be built the week of August 16. My business partner ordered one at the same time and we're going to take delivery together at the South Carolina Performance Center. Should be 3-5 weeks after the build date. Can't wait! Let me know what they say about your delivery date. Will be fun to compare notes and track the process.

BTW, special thanks to LovnM6 for the perspective about the Ruby Black. I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to roll the dice and give it a try. Knowing it doesn't look purple was the feedback I needed. So thanks again.

Unfortunately, today has come and gone, and still no order placed. Seems as though you have the upper hand Wahoo. Will keep you posted... By the way, how much of a deposit did you place down? $1k, $2k?

My deposit was a only $500 which seems crazy for a car which stickers for $110K.

Truthfully, I am not sure what "ordered" means. My spec is in the system and they've told me a build date, but I've got very little paperwork (only an "Online Ordering Vehicle Inquiry" form with the specs I asked for).

The whole process lacks transparency. My business partner and I decided to order cars together and pick them up in SC. That's two cars stickering in the six figures. Should be a good order and get pretty good service right? (particularly since I picked up a new X5 for my wife about a week ago). We went in and "ordered" the two cars on Tuesday afternoon. Was told we'd see paperwork later that day. After repeated calls over a period of days we finally got confirmation of a build date late on Thursday night and copy of a mostly correct order form. Passed along the correction this morning. Was told I'd get a email once the dealer got confirmation. Have not heard anything. I am hoping the order is in but not really sure. At this point all I have is the mostly correct "Online Ordering Vehicle Inquiry" form. Not sure if that means my car has been ordered or not.

If the sales guys in my company followed up like these guys I'd be out of business.

There are lots of BMW dealers out there eager to take your money... find one with better customer service, if you ask me. Don't be shy about being pushy- people spending this kind of scratch ought to get better service...

Yeah, it drives me crazy. This dealership is the one that is close to my office (5 minutes). The other two in town are more than an hour away. Honestly, when the lease on my 530xi expired, I was ready to get another BMW and the dealership was so bad that I walked out and went 500 yards down the street and bought a MB S500. The MB dealership is amazing. Service is great. Problem is I hate the car. This process is just reminding me why I left BMW in the first place. Super excited about the 7 series. Betting the dealership will still leave me disappointed.

I guess I am fortunate. I use East Bay BMW and they are great. They make the experience pleasurable and are always eager and willing to help. Their service is also top notch.

Sorry to hear about your dealer. I never understood that kind of service. It usually starts at the top.

Finally have a pick-up date for my performance center delivery. Sept 30. Can't wait. Car has officially left Germany. This has been one of the longest waits of my life....

Know the feeling. Been there. The time is soon.

Some cars are worth the wait...others are not.

The 7er is surely worth the wait!

It's completely awesome and was worth the wait. The performace center delivery was a life changing experience. I can't ever imagine picking a car up from a dealer again. The instructors started they day with the key phrase "NYC" and explained "You'll be getting your new BMWs in about two hours but for now, this is Not Your Car. It's our tires, suspension and possibly our body work so relax, let the cars run and have a great time." Music to my ears. Will get pictures up soon.
