F10 535i Climate control issues
Hey all, those who already took delivery please chime in.
I'm finding lots of frustration (even after reading owners manual) with the new auto climate control system. Mine is a simple question: how do I get the system to automatically adjust the fan speed according to temp settings. What I mean is this: I park my car in the lot and it's 97 outside. I get in the car and start her up. After a few minutes, the AC is still at a whisper, even though I've set the auto to 60. The only way I can get it to cool the car quicker is to bit Max - which isn't auto anymore is it. On any other (even lesser) vehicles, and depending upon int temp, the fan will increase speed up to max to cool the car. Thanks for any input.

I noticed the same thing here. Usually the "auto" function controls the fan speed. In my E60 if I changed the speed manually it was no longer on "auto", but in the F10 that does not appear to be the case.

You can vary the intensity of the auto feature. Maybe your auto intensity is set on it's softest setting?

If I vary the intensity, will it automatically reduce the fan speed when car reaches desired temp?
I just drove to appt. and in increased intensity of auto, but it just stayed there to whole time. Another setting elsewhere?

It should. I had no problem with my '10 e92 BMW that had automatic climate control. If it's on the strongest setting, it'll probably blow harder than what you'd like. I had my set the auto on the second least intense interval available.

Very strange. My "d",when in "auto" mode, will start out with the fans going full blast (when the interior temp is very different from the set temp) and they'll slow down as the interior reaches the set temp.Is this an issue unique to the F10?

I have been playing around a bit, and it appears that the fan speed does vary when in auto. The manual fan setting allows you to increase or decrease the fan intensity, but it still varies based on temp setting.
