535i options - active ventilated seats
I picked up my new 535i in Munich Friday, and although the tranny died after 125 miles, it was fun while it lasted. The adaptive cruise control is an absolute must! It works incredibly well. It even piled on the brakes and sounded an alarm when a Renault or something pulled into the left lane of the autobahn going 50 mph slower than I was.
Ventilated seats are nice too. The weather in Germany has been hot and the rental car I got didn't have ventilated seats. My car does, and I definitely noticed the difference. Blind spot warning works well but is pretty subtle unless you are thinking about it. The yellow triangle on the mirror isn't very bright, and the steering wheel shakes just like you have run over a "rumble strip" if you give a turn signal and a car is coming up on you. Lane deviation is kinda lame. Since I only had my car 125 miles before it died, I never figured out how to turn on the active seat feature. My CA at the Welt never got to that issue, and I couldn't figure it out. Anyone know? |

Well, at least it broke down in Germany, where the dealership techs are supposed to be very competent.
The Active Seat button is next to the memory seat buttons on the driver's door. |
