With the BMW 1 Series M Coupe confirmed for production the speculation has begun if the ///M division 1 series is finally BMW that can properly carry the E30 M3 legacy on for BMW. All the pictures of the 1er M coupe next to an E30 M3, the press releases from BMW, and the speculation from internet forum doesn't do prove anything next to track time! The car is still a pre-production descised model but that doesn't stop Albert Biermann, head of development at the M division from thrashing it around the track with Dietmar Stanka a journalist from Munich.
Update - Here is what they're saying
Albert Biermann (driver) - Starts out by saying the interior is not finished and it should be ignored.
Dietmar Stanka (journalist) - States that the car drives much better than his 135i and that the engine must be putting out about 350hp.
Albert Biermann (driver) - Say the car is more about handling than horsepower. Then goes on to say the car has a lot of power as you would expect from an M car but will not reveal any specifications.
Dietmar Stanka (journalist) - Notices how good the handling is and say that he can feel how much lighter the car is than the 135i
