3rd Row Conversion

Does anyone know if I can convert my 2008 X5 into third row seating and costs involved?

You certainly can, but the cost will make your jaw drop.

What color interior? My 2011 is Cinnamon Brown & I would love to get rid of the 3rd row seats.

why would you want to get rid of it? Is it really that useless?

Hi,

I just order the brown interior... I had saddle brown before and never seen this new brown... Can you post some pictures of your interior?

Really appreciate it! Thanks!

Wish I could.

Truck has been at Reeves (Tampa) since 9:45 am Wednesday. Still there. Hoping it comes back tomorrow. Seems they still don't have a solution to no trailer brake lights.

hm... I'm about to order my x5 also and originally I am thinking to get the 3rd role so that I can have the option to carry more people.

So even flipping it down is still wasting cargo space?

Everybody failed to disclose to the OP that in order to make his X5 fit the 3rd row seat, he would have to do extensive modifications and extensive parts replacement. Don't let him think all he need is to buy the seat off eBay, stick it in and be done with it.

For starters, the stationery 2nd row seat has to be replaced with a front-back moveable one for getting in and out, seatbealts for the 3rd row passengers have to be added, as do the vents so than they can breath in that cramped space, futhermore the floor has to be taken apart so that a floor with tracks and hinges for the 3rd row seat can be added, hence why I said the cost will make your jaw drop.

Don't buy the 3rd row seat from anyone without realizing how much of a hassel it will become for you first!!!

Good point 0428 East Coast

Sounds like a lot of work. But, if anyone wants to swap & help do the work, I'm still interested in getting rid of that 3rd row seat. I may just remove it & store along with so much other stuff.

I do have a question on the second row seat of X5 with 3rd row and without 3rd row. Will the the flippable second row feel less comfortable than the one that can't flip?
