E34 540i Where is O2 sensor #2 located? Passenger side or driver side??
I have a 1995 540i E34, with 180,000 miles + the check engine light goes on after driving for about 10 minutes but does not light when I first start car. The stomp test came back with 1212 code, O2 sensor #2.
Just failed smog, check engin light went on, tester staed rich nitrogen output was the problem.
Since I have two O2 sesor on this car, which one is #2 (driver side or passenger side)?
Besides the O2 sensor what else can be causing this check engine light code 1212?
I have listen for any hissing from engine to see if there were any vacum leaks, and did not hear any.
Once I identify which O2 sensor is #2, I will replace and drive for ahwile to see if the check engine light will register an error and light up. If it does not I will take car in for a smog retest.
Looking to identify which side O2 sensor #2 is located, driver or passenger side to start.
