Question Bluetooth issue

I have an 05 645. When I'm driving the car using the built in bluetooth (using a Blackberry Storm 2) the bluetooth stays on even when I turn the car off. I even tried switching my phone to speaker or handset mode but the car is still "locked" in bluetooth mode. I have to end my call for the screen to finally turn off in the car. Anybody else have this problem? Any known solutions?

Well the blue tooth can function approximately 10 to 12ft away from the car, so that may be the problem

You may be correct but I would think that with the key not in the ignition and once the door is opened, all functions should cease (like when the radio is on).

Not sure if it's a problem versus a feature. The bluetooth will stay on if you have a call in progress, even if the key is off. This is so that you do not have to keep the car idling while having a conversation. many times this has happened to me. Having a conversation, got home in the garage and turn the car off while still connected. This is good so you don't kill yourself with CO2 emissions

I agree with Pablo645, the bluetooth feature is meant to run the whole time you are on your phone call. Even when you turn the car off but still on your call.

Thank you all for the responses! Glad its not an "issue", just my ignorance
I wonder how long it would actually stay on? I know one time I had parked in the garage, switched to handset, walked in my living room, talked for another 10 minutes or so, walked back in the garage and it was still connected....
