Took delivery today X5 35d with Sport activity (pics)

My first BMW. I figured I'd use my purchase today to kick off some content for this new board.

A while back I started looking for a very basic, low-spec 35d. Having trouble finding a simple configuration, I was thinking about ordering one, but then I found this one in a local dealer's inventory.

I was told that it was ordered for a customer whose financing fell apart between order and delivery. Hopefully there is no bad karma there.

I don't know all the codes, but it is Titanium Silver with Black Nevada leather. It has the sport activity package, 20" rims, running boards, roof rails and (as I like to say) front seated heats.

One mans lost is another ones gain.

I love the look of the LCI's in silver. The contrast with the black trim and the darker tails lights look sweet. I actually snapped a pick of some guys silver X5 in a parking-lot and had it up as my wallpaper while I waited for my delivery.

Congrats she is a beauty. Good luck with keeping the wheels clean though.

I've got a silver being built right now - looks great!! There's been such a flock to the darker grays, silver seems a bit more rare lately. And for some reason, on the new black X5s, I find they hide the lines - look a lot more similar to the older E53 in general shape when I see them out and about.

And it'll look great without a wash in 4 weeks too!!

Very nice, good combo, you gonna love it. My first BMW also, plenty to learn and get use to how Germans do it. Hope you have a pleasant relationship with your new ride, enjoy.

Are the 20's shod with RFT's? (I know the website says "performance tires" instead of 4 seasons).

If they are NOT RFT's do they give you a spare?

This silver would look that much better had it looked like the first pic in real life.

AAAH well I'm feeling (I like) the Silver on the LCI models. I think it all depends on what your going for. Contrast or Shine. Quick pic I took of some guys X5. I used to see this thing all the time and was that I didn't have mine yet.

Yup, they are runflats.

Mine are Dunlop SP Sport Maxx DSST RunOnFlat (Max Performance Summer).

A spare tire is an option ($150), and you still get runflats even if you order the spare. Sort of a belt AND suspenders approach.

In lieu of a spare my X5 has a nice lockable, carpeted storage compartment under the rear floor.

Yes, but remember I took this off the lot, it was not built to my order.

I don't know the build date, next time I'm in the X5 I'll try to remember to look.

Are the tires directional? I'm wondering if we can even rotate them to squeeze a little more mileage?

Yes, they are directional and front/rear are different sizes... Can't rotate!
