Change 2008 center console to 2009/2010...?

I have a 2008 535i. It doesn't have enough usable interior storage space for me, and I noticed that the 2009/2010s have an extra hole in the center console, above the ashtray.

Can anyone tell me how hard or easy it would be to swap mine for the new one...?

Thanks

I'd be curious if anyone has done this since original post... Wouldn't mind the cup holders and electric e-brake.

I don't believe it's possible....... for the 2008's if you have NAV then you have no hole because you have the NAV DVD drive. I think for the 2009's and up they went to a HD for NAV thus deleting the NAV DVD drive and creating the extra space in the console.

No Room, like peeps are saying. If you have Nav etc the bit below that looks like a blank plate has part of the head unit/nav system behind it as it's fairly deep behind all that dash trim.

I dissasembled my center console and very carefully removed (and saved) my phone cradle; this opened up my cooled-bin quite a bit- I had to seal a couple of mount-holes to keep in the cold air, but it's a lot more usable now.
