Actual invoice price for a 528i?

Just wondering if anyone who has bought 2011 528i has a copy or the amount of the actual invoice from the dealer. I am doing research using edmunds and trucar to get a base price, edmunds is giving a base price of $40,985 vs 41,323 truecar dealer cost. Not a significant difference, but I want to start gathering information from the bottom up. So if anyone would like to share this information I would greatly apprecaited it, PM if you would like too.

Thanks

2011 528i (USAA) Invoice

Just for your information.

I just ordered a 2011-528i this past Sat 7/24/2010. I used my bank (USAA) invoice information. The bank has a contract with some dealers in that bank member would only pay the USAA bank invoice price on the base price and options. And this is the numbers I was provided.

$42,360 Invoice as quoted by my bank
$1,545 Convenience ZCV
$1,640 Premium Package CPP
$4,460 Premium Package 2 ZP2
$500 Dark Sapphire
====
$50,005 Total Invoice
$52,125 Amount I paid for the car

Plus
$875 Destination fee
$250 Tag-Title Fee
$38 Tag
$398 Delivery Fee
====
$1,561 Fees
+ taxes

I began the wheel and deal with the Mercedes E350, which they indicated that they would accept the USAA invoice, no questions asked. Then, I started with the BMW paperwork thru the internet-USAA bank. But there was a catch, I was not referred to the local BMW dealer by my bank, the dealer did not have a contract with my bank. I was referred to two different dealers, one about 40 miles another about 60 miles from my home.

I still went to the local-nearest dealer near my home, with my bank paperwork on hand. Within an hour the local dealer was within $460 of the lower of the 2 other dealers. The other dealers had higher dealer fees. My wife fell in love with the 528i vs the MB E350. With $1500 down I order a Black/Black car the dealer found at the Brunswick GA port. It has been there since the first week of Jul, expected to be release to truck transport on Jul 30, a mere 5 hour transport drive. It appears that some dealers would have a contract that they must honor to USAA members, while others do not.

$54375 is list price on this car on this day in time for posterity, so savings seem very small. One can ask for $2000 off cars under $55K, and a little more on higher priced cars, with out much haggling. Invoice, holdback, dealer cost, whatever terms thrown around, are really no ones business accept BMW's, and if you find it somewhere probably are not true. The car business is full of background dealings beyond the public.

Ummmm....invoice prices are not created from someone's imagination.
I have a hard copy of the Retail Pricing version of this pricing for the 535/550 and history has shown that it is by all means coupled with a Wholesale sheet (which I don't have).

This is provided to all BMW dealerships, and Festers have been posting here for years regarding use of those in negotiations. The idea is to eliminate any "background dealings" from the equation.
