Hi guys, I am new to BMW as for my entire life being a MB fan, but now you know It's design is giving me a hard time.
Let's get to the point. This might be a silly question. so you can slate me if you want. I have order my first BMW F10 . and here in Thailand you can not select your own option. mine comes with Dynamic Driving Control. what is the different between Dynamic Driving Control and Dynamic Damping control????? i have look through the forum. some said it's about a switch beside the gear, as COMFORT, NORMAL , SPORT and SPORT+.which to do with the suspension, acceleration ,etc. but non say about Dynamic Driving Control All i can see from a demo car is only NORMAL and SPORT. is that means my car does not come with Damping control things?????? or Dynamic Driving Control and Dynamic Damping control are the same. Thanks for the help.... |

Good question. I bought a 550i with Sport Package and the "Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles" option, which gave me what I thought was "Dynamic Driving Control and Dynamic Damping control" package. But I get "Sport+, Sport, and Normal" settings, but no "Comfort". Not that I need the Comfort setting, but I think I lost the Dynamic Damping as well? Or maybe not?
What the difference between: Sport Package + Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles vs Dynamic Handling Package (which includes the Sport Package) Jeff |

Sport Transmission gets you the sport mode button on the console. That has an option to "sport" the drivetrain and chassis which is a good thing. The DHP is above and beyond that -its on the website.
I got my 535 the other day and was worried about not having the DHP. While I'd wish I got it I'm glad I got the Sport Tranmission and glad I don't have the stock setup. Get the DHP if you want the drive the car hard, you'll be glad you did. Everything else on the car is amazing including torque from 1200-5000 super smooth, transmission is great you don't even have to manually shift. Last edited by dunccfp; 07-30-2010 at 02:48 PM. |

DHP adds active-roll stabilization and damping control. I think the sport auto only offers different TRANSMISSION (or maybe also engine and steering) responses, but not in suspension - that is part of the damping control.
I wonder whether the Sport package only model offers you Sport/Sport plus settings.
