Add oil - 3k miles

Reached the 3K mile mark over the weekend and the car told me (not literally!) it was 1 qt low. My 2008 550i didn't start begging for oil until I got to the 7K mile mark.
What gives?

Last week my E92 335i told me it needed one quart of oil. I planned to go to the dealer later in the day, but a few hours later it told me that oil level as normal. No dip stick to check the computer sensor....

So check it again.

I've had two cars with the TT V8 engine ('09 750i and '11 X6 50i) and both have needed a quart at the 4K mark. Nobody at my dealership seemed concerned.

Same here, no concerns. Stopped by the dealer for a top-off today - no prob. Got somewhat used to it with the 2008 550i. I just thought it was a bit early. But I have been driving pretty fast/hard on the freeway.

Well I have already put in a quart and its back saying oil level low? This was at 1k and now at 2300
