2003 E65 Keyfob Question?

Greeting Friends

I know this problem has been addressed already but here it goes, I only have 1 keyfob and it does not charge anymore, but now I have to take the key out to unlock door now sometime it unlocks it and the alarm cuts off sometimes it doesn't and the alarms sounds I ordered another battery for it but when I opened the keyfob after watching a youtube video on it but the battery is fused to the panel with looks like 3 fused dots on it, does anyone have a clue on how to bypass this, i was thinking i could just replace the battery, when i took the circuit panel out of the keyfob itself to test the buttons none of them worked...lost for words

If you haven't come across this thread it is worth a look: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...ht=fob+battery
In post #20 Paper shows a cool trick to charge a dead fob battery.

The fob battery may be dead because your car battery is dying and does not charge the fob. Another common reason is when you only take short trips in your car the fob never gets properly charged.

Don't put your key near wireless charging bases like those for toothbrushes or cell phone. They are far too powerful for the key can damage it. The recommended max charging current for the VL2020 battery is 1.5mA. Cell phone chargers are designed to charge the phone at 1000mA or more. In most cases I've seen the cause of non working remotes is not a bad battery that no longer takes a charge. More than 90% of keys I see do not need the battery replaced. But then I've only worked on 400 keys at last count so it's small compared to the combined knowledge of the group here on the forum.
