2003 X5 3.0 w/Xenon Headlamp Problem
The head lights will come on work fine and then both shut off or one comes on and the other is out. I have replaced the dash switch and the bulbs. just cannot figure if it is a wire or as someone suggested a lamp ballast ?

If these are OEM then the HV wire is part of the ballast. Is the "out" light always on the same side? If so, switch the ballast from the "on" side over and see if the light stays on. You may need a $tealer to check the LKM to see if it has any problems. You can pick up ballasts on Flebay from time to time.

Ballast on fleabay are $40-$50 for OEM last time I looked. $tealer charges mega-bucks. LKM required the dealer computer or the like to install it. They run somewhere in the region of $500. I had my LKM fail while still under CPO and the $tealer quoted $450 or so then plus labor. CPO picked it up.
