Celis CRAP - Is it Just me?? (PICS)

Is it just me or do the Celis LED 'upgrade' lights actually look like tacky Altezza lights compared to the original 'non-celis' clear hella's that came on early E39 M5s...

????????????

Someone please tell me where I can buy these online, or if you want to trade me for my "upgraded" lights I'd be delighted to swap.

Many thanks,

SHAUN

BTW- I just found an aftermarket set made by Depo for $134

http://depoautolights.com/product_in...2b45710815719c

Has anyone actually bought these or seen them in person?? How close to stock do they look? (qualified answers only please- not opinions about "if its not OEM, it must be crap..")

hahaha, i dont mean to bash.. but everyone always says "you should upgrade to celis" blah blah blah, and i do agree, they look better when lit up.. however, i think they other ones catch my eye much more than the shiny Celis look.

I know what you mean. On a silver with black bumper trim the clear&red looks better than with the celis

I agree, they're pretty crappy. I'll give you $50 for them.

Are you talking about Hella OEs or aftermarket CELIS? If Hella, they don't even look close to cheap. If you don't like yours, I would check your lights and see if they're OE. There are plenty of cheesy looking reps out there, but I love my Hellas- Everything about them is clean, with very fine detail around the edges and CELIS tubes. I had a non-facelift e39 a few years back, and I hated the murky, old-looking tails on her.

To start with, I would change your signal bulbs to a chrome / amber set-up- that will clean 'em up a lot, and still meet spec.

BTW, do you have an M5 or a 540i?

the 2000 look much nicer if you get a silver bulb in there..
like such.

I think the CELIS are the cleanest looking.

BTW, Bekkers has the 96-00 OEM Hella clear set like the ones you like for $250
http://www.bekkers.com/Merchant2/mer...de=btlight5e39

for $50 more you can get Hella celis. I might grab these to freshen mine up

Replica. OEM has a very quality look. The first post in this thread is OEM.

Ahhhh... OK. The original set of shots were provided for an example. Your car has reps- that's why they look so cheap. I couldn't agree with you more. Look at an '01-'03 when you have the chance- you'll see what everyone is talking about- much higher quality.

I would suggest finding a set of used OEM on the 'bay. Good luck!

From what I've noticed it seems to me that the OEM ones have four tubes and all the afermarket ones I've seen have three. That doesn't mean all aftermarket have three tubes just from what I've observed.
