E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

BMW 525 2003 Problem Help

Transmission Failure Problem what to do ? my car drives good no service check light on so what to do when i stop the car i turn again that message was gone dont get it

What is a "pending" code. I keep hearing that term. Is it the same as the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that shows up on the Actron OBDII scanner/reader?

I used the "search" button and guess what, I found my neighbor's response already waiting for me in another thread.

"Did AutoZone check for pending codes? These are codes that are detected once, and do not appear all the time. They are not automatically read out; they need to be interrogated."

BTW, I think I'll add this to the BMW E39 glossary so others don't have this definition problem.
