Help with paint code location

Ok... I'm an E34 driver but I'm repairing the hood and grill on my son's 96 318ti and I can't find the paint code location. I did find the list you guys posted with all of the codes and colors, Very nice! The E36 forum sure is more informative than the E34 forum!!!
I have searched the owners manual as well as the Bentley manual and all they say is that it's under the hood. After working on this car for the last week I feel fairly sure it was crashed on the drivers side front so I'm guessing the paint code tag must have been on that side.
I need to go to the paint store so could someone help me.

Its on the strut tower on the driver's side, unless its been removed or painted over. Check Jonesin's sticky on the top of the page for a complete list of colors offered on the e36

If you can post a pic of the car, odds are one of us know it.

Precisely why one can't find the paint code sticker.

I had to look it up. Once the sticker is attached, it disappears, too.

OP, all joking aside, if you call the stealer with the VIN, they should be able to tell you what the original color was.

Welcome to the fest! If you'll post the last seven digits of your VIN we can run a search on it and come up with what the original color was/is.
