Exclamation Auxiliary question...

So I installed the auxiliary plug this afternoon. Was enjoying using my iPhone to listen to XM and my iTunes UNTIL....

I plugged in my power cord for the iPhone and the radio went from AUX to FM. I hit the "mode" button and it goes to CD then back to FM. Huh....
So I go back home (cussing all the way) and proceed to take the dash apart convinced something came loose. Well, everything looks good so I plug the iPhone back in and it works!! Unplug, plug back in, try Pandora, try XM, try iTunes.... All is working.
Off I go back down the road on my mission and I'm jamming away when the iPhone pops up 20% battery left so I grab the power cord, plug it in and not two seconds later, BAM, back to FM. No AUX on the mode button. Unplug the power cord, hit mode, AUX comes back up and works fine.

So, does anyone else have this issue? Everything is installed correctly. It works great until I plug in a power source into the phone. At that point the radio no longer recognizes AUX. So it's not in the phone, it's in the car. Any ideas??

Well, from what I know about the radio on the business HU, it works on a power antenna. So, the only thing I can think of is that your Iphone charger might be send too much juice thru the AUX cable and switching your option. This is just a guess I have the OEM aux cable set up, and i never had this problem, oh by the way I use a monster cable for my AUX. Good luck hope this helps.

Kg, I was kinda thinking the same thing, power back through the AUX. Maybe I will go find a Monster cable. Right now I just have the Belkin cable I was using in my semi.

I did everything just as in http://www.my330i.com/mod26.php#Q DYI.

I am wondering if I disconnect the battery and reconnect it if that would reset anything?

reseting the battery will do nothing. I believe even the newer cars have this problem with the iphone either charging or being used at a ipod.

Monster cable might be the most overpriced thing ever - and horrible quality, anyway.
I'd get all my cables from here: custom made, no frills prices:
