New F10 Order opinion

Looking at ordering a new 535ix shortly. I am considering the Carbon Black with either the Oyster/Black Dakota or the Cinnamon Brown interior. The car will be equipped premium 1 and 2 with MSport as well. Any thoughts on those color combos? Good or Bad.

Also if I go with the Oyster I can possibly upgrade to the Nappa leather for an extra $9 or so per month. Is that worth it?

Thanks for your thoughts/opinions.

I love Carbon Black, I wish I could have gotten it on my non-M 535i. I think either of those interiors will look great. I actually got Cinnamon with Black Sapphire, same as my previous 335i. I almost went for Oyster/Black, but Cinnamon was so easy to care for in my 335i, I stuck with it. I have had light interiors before, not quite as light as Oyster, and I maintained them well, but I had seen a 7-series with Oyster Nappa and it was already dirty sitting on the lot.

As for Nappa, I've seen many 7-series with is and it looks great. Typically, the ones I saw have the perforated, ventilated seats. I know Nappa is much smoother, but I'm not sure over time it holds up as well as Dakota. Others may have more/better info. Good luck with your choices!

The oyster is very light. Would be better to go with a darker color, IMO. Just
go to the dealership with your kids, find an oyster interior, and have the little
ones play in it for about five minutes--then see what you think. ;-)

How long are you intending to keep the car? I really like the oyster/black combination but have decided to stick with Black Dakota because I will be keeping the car for 5+ years. I know having stains or scuffs on the oyster will annoy me. Although oyster might look better at first, depending on how your using the car (kids, etc.) it can be much more work and will show more wear

I much prefer Nappa. Had it my M% and it held up quite well.

I AGREE. In fact I will put bath towels in the back seat when my grand kids are riding with me. The Oyster is beautiful but very light.

Does anyone remember when dealers (Ford, GM) used to offer clear vinil covers for the seats, back in the 60's ??? Yuck!

I would go with the towels too...

Yep--I remember those plastic seat covers from the late 50s, early 60s.
My Dad had them installed on my Mom's Caddy. Happy Days! ;-)

If you get the cinnamon interior, please make sure not to choose the light wood option with it. It is the worst color combination on the planet !!!!! Dark wood or Bamboo wood will look with cinnamon.

I love the Carbon Black and was disappointed that it was not offered until the September build, so I vote for the CB, I always go with the black interior, but I live in San Francisco, I did get the Anthracite headliner this time, WOW is all I have to say, really nice and I received several compliments on it while in Germany.

I remember sticking to them while waring shorts in the summer time and watching them turn clear to brown then begin to crack after a couple of years! lol Thanks for the memory!

Is Carbon Black now available without the M package?

When I try and build my own 535ix it does not give me an option to pick the dark wood. Only the light wood, Anthracite and aluminum. Is the dark wood even available on the 535ix?

I was playing around building a 528i and the dark wood wasn't there either. I thnk it's just a web site thing. Dark wood is the default standard wood in all models I believe. The recommended interior chart does not allow light wood with Cinnamon.
