Transmission whine normal?

Hello everyone,

I had a question about a whine that I keep hearing from my X5 50i. I think it is coming from the transmission, and probably around third gear under acceleration only. It usually starts once the car is warmed up. This is my first dual-clutch car so maybe I am not used to the normal transmission noises.

It first caught my attention a while back, I thought the noise was a police siern in the far distance (got to be careful of police in this beast )

The cars has about 2500 miles, and other than the noise, everything has been great. In fact, I just did a 400 mile road trip averaging 22mpg's.
