High fuel consumption
Car sat for 5 years, and when started using it, fuel consumption almost doubled. Car is in great shape ( M series) and plugs, wiring, vacuum connections, air filter appears OK. O2 sensor has 120,000 km on it.
Any quick suggestions? |

Clean the ICV, air flow sensor, and throttle body real well and look for deteriorated rubber boots, vacuum lines, etc. After sitting for 5 years lots of stuff could be affected. I'd put in a new set of plugs too.

O2 Sensor
Supplier sent me a four wire sensor, my 533i takes single wire O2 sensor. Du you think that I can hook up only the black wire ignoring the other 3 ? I got no response from supplier.
Thanks.....Vic |

Two wires are usually for the heating element. If you can find the right one, it probably will work. Too bad because the one wire sensors are usually alot cheaper.
