2001 740i Nav screen and MKII upgrades

Hello first time poster.

I am in the market for a 2001 740i with the sports package. I have found out that the earlier models have the small nav screen and the later one have the wide screen. With some research I have also discovered you can upgrade the small nav to the larger one. The first is a mk2 nav and the later is the mk3.

My question is in addition the the nav screen, can you also upgrade the the mk2 nav unit to a newer mk3 or even newer model?

Yes, they are both relatively easy to upgrade. I went to the 16:9 screen, then later also went from an MKII to an MKIV.
