Pinch protector activating w/nothing there!

When I roll up my driver's rear window, it rolls halfway back down upon fully closing. It seems obvious it's the Pinch Protector kicking in. However, nothing is in the track, and it doesn't seem like the pinch protector is jammed, because, it only does this when near the top. Could it be something else, like, the Regulator?

It's dirt, dust- etc. Happens to me all the time all the way around. If you have the wind guards installed they pinch it as well. Clean your windows and let me know.

Thanks, Blaze, but, that's not it. In fact, it started one day I was cleaning my truck; I'd rolled up all the windows, it was fine, then, while rinsing, I held the button on the knob (accidentally) to lock/roll up the windows, and this one rolled down! Ever since, this window has been doing this.

I just tried to clean it really well, and re-attempt...same. Any other thoughts? I'm not finding anything in the tracks.

BTW, is there a way to disable the pinch protector?

That's because inside the door/window is wet. Wait until it's dry and the problem will disappear. It happened to me when I installed the tint.

I appreciate your advice, but, this has been going on for about three weeks, or so. It's completely dry.

Well, sorry to burst your BMW high Quality and design Bubble, but what you are experiencing is known as window bounce back

It is only possible because of the "Anti Pinch" that you mention, but that feature is a legal requirement to stop small children, or stupid Adults from getting their fingers pinched.

Bounce back happens when the friction in the window channel is too high and brings the anti-pinch into play.
you have probably found that you can over ride that by holding the window switch until it is fully closed.
You may also have found that this will happen more when your car is parked in strong sunlight.

take it back to your dealer and have him fix it. It is caused by a build up of tolerances of all the parts.
BMW can correct this by a software release for the Door Control Unit (DCU) that controls the pinch active point.
The dealer will probably grease your window run, and tell you it's fixed.
