Unlock Key Button

Hello,

In my previous bmw 328Ci, one click on unlock button will unlock the car, a second press will put down the driver's window. Is it possible to set this feature on the 645Ci (e64, 2004) ?
A second click on the unlock button do absolutely nothing for the moment ...

Thanks for the help

not sure. I can check in the morning. I don't remember seeing the setting in the iDrive door locks menu but then I don't even remember what I had for lunch this afternoon. Maybe the 645 didn't come with that feature to begin with (which I find hard to believe) or maybe its a feature lacking in the European models??

Thats why I found it strange.

While locked: Holding the unlock button, put all windows to half way, and start the cabrio mode.

While locked: Pushing 1 time unlock, unlock the car, but a second press do nothing else (driver's window must opening in this case)

While unlock: Pushing 1 time lock, lock the car, holding lock IS NOT closing all windows and the cabrio mode

While locked: Holding cargo unlock does no thing, here panic mode must be activate ...

Strange no ? :/

On the convertibles, if you hold the unlock long enough, it will think you want the top down. You are not able to bring the top and windows back up by holding the lock button again. All part of their safety feature. As others have mentioned, if you want the full range of movement, you will have to install a device called "Smart top" that bypass this top down only feature.
In regards to the trunk, make sure your valet switch that is located in the rear cup holder section, is fully disengaged, otherwise the unlock trunk button on the remote will not open the trunk. Otherwise that would defeat the purpose of having a valet option.

Thank you for the reply

I have contact a local partner garage to install the SmartTop, its btw very expensive for such a small feature ... around $500 here for 3buttons functions

About the trunk what you mean by "valet switch" ?
Is the Rear Cup Holder the little cargo front of the back seats ?

Thx ...

Yes it is. In the rear cup holder section you will see a small key slot. This slot is to fit the pull out Key that is in the FOB. This small key fits into this slot that you turn clockwise and counter clockwise to lock and unlock the valet feature. Turn it until you cannot open your gas tank, arm rest and trunk. Then turn it the other way until you can access all these compartments. Sorry I do not have a Pic right now but it should be in your manual.

I am loving the Matte Black paintjob! Nice car... I should have kept my e46 like you did, but they gave me such a good trade-in value for it that I couldn't pass it up!

You can close the top again by sticking the key into the key hole and twisting counter clockwise i believe.

It's clockwise (same as locking the car). Just hold it to the right.

there's a selection on idrive to choose if the key unlocks both driver and passenger or only driver side... it's both or one, not one then the other (with double click)
