Control Arm Removal?

I am trying to replace my control arms, the bolts came out fine without struggle, but the parts wont come apart. I cant separate the control arm from the strut base, the nuts are off but it wont budge at all.

Am i missing something here? i cant believe that this is this difficult...

do you have a ball joint splitter? you need a way to seperate the ball joint from the strut base.

just did mine this past saturday..take a hammer and keep hitting the base to it falls by itself.....it should fall after a couple of hits to the base

make sure you have all 3 bolts out of the bracket before using bfh. the one towards the rear can be difficult to see.

not sure what you mean injunmort, but i have all the bolts apart. Lookin like i just need a ball joint separator. My car is lowered so its under more strain, forcing it in further.

there are three bolts that attach the steering bracket to the strut housing. you should not need to remove ball joint to drop the bracket. you must drop the bracket get the control arm off to begin with. if all three mounting bolts are removed, one or two good shots to the top of the ball joint should free the bracket. it is only held on by the three bolts and a locating pin cast in the strut housing.

Oh, yea I know what youre talkin about. Trust me, I got it. This isn't my first rodeo lol. Since I've lowered the car, there is much more strain on the control arms, requiring a ball joint splitter.
