Pin for Seat arm rest repair

Just bought a 94 530i, and the driver's seat arm rest has come off as the tension pin
sheared off. I have the pin, part of it, will have to punch the remainder out.
Where can I get a replacement pin (yes, salvage yard), prefer a hardware store
equivalent. Any easy replacements? Machine shop?

The arm rest on my drivers seat does not stay in position. The passenger one works fine, but the driver one just kind of lays there I can push it back the other way too towards the back seat, it just has no rigidity to it, just flops around and lays there. Could the pin be the culprit there, too?

My armrest the same thing. It can lock in the three positions but is not solid or rigid. I plan on ordering a pin from realoem myself
