transfer case issue

I recently had my transfer case replaced in my 2008 X3 by a local mechanic who turned out not to be up to the task. He got it installed and I eventually got it coded into the computer, but I now have a rumble that I never had before. It seems related to wheel speed, not motor speed and begins at 35-40mph. Any ideas?

Differential or Xfer case. Rumble on my 328 was rear differential. Make sure he put the drive shaft together right - if he got it wrong it can be out of balance.

I think you are in a bad spot, as you may not be able to count on the same person for the fix. But go have him drive it and see. Good luck!
