Good news indeed . I've been wondering how "The Ultimate Driving Machine" wasn't contesting the best tin top series in the world .

BMW has done well in the BTTC, with the 320si (and that series is damn fun to watch), but taking the M3 to race against the other V8 AUDI and Mercedes-Benz cars is going to awesome.
There are also rumors that some other car maker will enter (or re-enter) DTM in 2012 as well. After a few years of bad times, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters is getting its act together again.

The return to DTM is great news. For years I've been hoping/wanting to see BMW competing in the newly formatted DTM series along side Audi and Mercedes.
Can't wait!
