Now it seems in addition to sneaking in Xenon Headlights, the 35i will have dampening control standard. We already know about the 18" tires.

One thing I liked is I was worried that the 18" tires might be a harsh ride but is sounds like this reviewer tested the 35i and really enjoyed the ride with 18" tires. So maybe with all the new technology, the tires make no difference.

So that right there ...the Xenon headlights and the dampening control is probably 2K saved of the 4K extra. I can't wait to see the price options. It might come out to just 2K more for the 35i.

Very nice review, the only one so far that mentions the (expected) negative effect of electric steering boost/assist:

The electronically assisted power steering isn't up to BMW's best steering. It increases weight at higher speeds, making it easy to keep the tall vehicle centered on the highway, though the weight feels artificial, and the steering doesn't give you much road surface information.

Yeah. It was thorough. It made me happy we don't have the start/stop option here.

I have pondered the issue (electronic steer boost). It doesn't seem like we have a choice this year. I wondered whether one would be able to make a quick steer to avoid an accident on the highway ...but maybe if you hit the brake, it realizes something is wrong, disengages and allows an easier steer even though you are still going fast.
