03 745li transmission slip issue

i have an 03 745li. transmission slips from 1-2. when i come to a complete stop and try to pick up speed, it drives in gear 1 a little hesitant for a very short time and then slams and jerks into gear 2. it stopped it at one point when i cut off the car and started it a couple of mins later. what can i do to fix this issue? battery was just changed and has not yet been registered to the car, dont know if that could cause this or what else or is this an expensive transmission issue that will require changing the transmission. All other gears seem to shift fine

i have the same problem!! I went to a few shops they told me that the car has to get to know me, maybe the previous owner drove like a animal thats why it jerks. Another guy told me it could be the drive shaft bushing? Let me know what you find out cause i hate driving my car like this!

I had this problem on my car. BMW replaced the box under warranty.

To see if its the same issue:

1: Find a clear stretch of road
2: Put gearbox into manual mode
3: Take off gently from a standstill
4: once the car is moving push the accelerator to the floor but don't activate the kickdown switch!
5: While accelerating hard (without kickdown) change from second, to third, to fourth rapidly before you get to 30-40MPH.

If your gearbox is slipping, your revs will rise quickly, there will be a bang from the gearbox and a jerk in the car - then the dashboard will say that the gearbox is in safe mode.

If this happens take it to the dealer and show them - they will then replace the gearbox.
