My room mate saw Black on saddle brown 335d in Mobil gas station near Nutting Lake in Billerica. Anyone here? He thought it was me and pulled next to you ( in Accord)

So did you guys do the Climb to the Clouds? I did Boston=>Montreal=>Watkins Glen=>Boston, 17 hours in the car total and two tanks of gas for 1,100 miles, had a great time.
Anyone go to the Larz Anderson German Car Day on Father's day? Pretty good turnout.

Hallelujah I saw Black 335d Non SP at Rt 62 and Rt 129 intersection in Wilmington. That was yesterday around 6:20PM. You were turning onto Rt62 and I was getting on Rt129. I didnt get a chance to look at you as I was busy looking for DEF cap

Spotted Vermilion Red X5 Diesel with updated LED corona rings at Costco in Stoughton MA about 2 weeks ago
Just returned from a trip to Mt Washington in NH. I enjoyed the Auto Road to the summit so much!
The diesel engine stopping power when going down is unbelievable. I used the brakes only few times when in second gear on the way down. First gear didn't need brakes at all, even at the highest grade downhill.
I also averaged 29 mpg for the whole trip which is amazing for fully loaded 5000 lb SUV with 3 adults, 2 kids and full trunk of luggage
I'll post a video from the summit later on

All I can say is that the diesel engine beats the gas in any direction!
Europeans are not stupid
BMW sales in Europe are 70% diesels
They have a huge plant in Stern Austria where they develop, test and produce their high tech diesels. BMW spends more money for developing diesel engines and less money for gas engines (leaded by the sales share).
Can't wait for the new 3L tri-turbo diesel engine with 400HP, and 550 lb-ft torque, 8 speed ZF transmission and better diesel mileage

Need a tire

Last night I went over pothole and today morning I got TPMS warning for low pressure. I was hoping it was due to temperature change. But on inspection I found very small bubble on sidewall. I guess very soon it will need replacement. I still have lot of thread left on my other tires. So if someone has a set or single tire which they want to get rid off I would be very happy to take it for reasonable price.
Else I will probably wait few more weeks before changing over to Winter set.

Folks, question for those of you in the Boston area: What has your service experience been for DPF and Urea-related incidents? I'd like to get a sense for which Boston dealers have experience servicing our diesels and which do not. Also, I assume this might come down to a specific SA or Technician who you've deal with (vs. the dealer itself). Feel free to PM me if you want to keep those names private. Thanks!

PS: My 335d should be arriving at BMW Subury in the next few days. Almost exactly 4 weeks after our drop off in Munich. My ED pix/video are in the link below.

I have only been to BMW Norwell, but they do NOT get a lot of 335d's in there for service. Every time mine is there everyone mentions it.
With that said, I have only had mine a short time and have had no issues at BMW Norwell, they have been able to take care of each issue in a timely fashion.

I bought X5d at Peabody but live in Framingham so I my last few service calls have been at BMW Sudbury. No problems at Peabody ( Centennial Drive ) and they really helped me on a tire warranty issue.

Sudbury diagnosed and quickly replaced a bad DEF component ( heated tank I think ) and have otherwise been responsive. I purchased extended warrantees from an out of state dealer, but no problem with maint service at BMW Sudbury so far.

I usually ask for Casey as he is very experienced but Travis is also easy to work with.

Purchased the 2011 X5D from BMW Gallery in Norwell Aug 2010
Last month I went there for an oil change. The car had 7800 miles and the computer said the oil change is due (annual requirements not the mileage) also there was not a DEF light. When I dropped the car the service guy told me, like SpeedyD mentioned, that they don't see many diesels at that dealership. I wanted to make sure that they will re-flush both DEF tank and fill up a new fresh DEF fluid no just to top it off. I mentioned that they have to do it because the DEF has a shelf life of one year and need to be re-flushed and refilled annually.
So, when you go for service show them than you know the stuff and make sure they will not miss anything that needs to be done, especially the DEF flush and refill, not just topping it off.

PS: I also did an oil change at 3000 miles after the break-in-period. I paid for it and asked them to not reset the service indicator
