ANGEL EYES KaiBird (5W) step-by-step installation.

So, I decided to purchase these from EBAY. They look great. Below are picks taken at intervals during my installation. I hope this helps. It's the least I can do for this board that has given me plenty of help in the past.

Cheers.

Nice write up spiralynt. Thanks for contributing. I am actually going to try these and see how they look. If i don't like them, hey it's only $45. I like the look in the 2011 models that now have this white LED look for the angel eyes. that is the color I am trying to get. If these 5W works then it will be money well spent.

DesertB -

Can you point us to the ebay seller that you bought these from. There are so many out there on ebay and we dont want to buy a set that will throw codes after we install them.

Looks Great!

Only one seller on ebay has these. They are the K32 5W models in my sig. Check out my post below for seller information and daytime/dusk pics as well! Make sure you get the K32 5 watt versions as the seller also sells the 3 watt version K31.

Nice Writeup! It's the best $45 I have spent so far on this car as well.

Dahab,

1) I took those pictures with my iPhone. Don't expect exact color duplication from real life. The lights look great. What do you expect for $45? Personally, I love them and recommend them.

2) XENON lights are NOT ON in the picture. The light you see is the reflection from the Angel Eyes. Same effect from red eyes on people's pictures. Thus, the light "projecting" from the main Xenons are simply taking the color from the Angel Eyes.

2) Good observation, but why in the world would i care to Photoshop this? The picture you are referring to was, in fact, taken after installing the passenger side light first. After taking that picture i thought to myself, "I should take pictures of the driver side light installation so that I can upload them to Bimmerfest." I hope this explains it.

3) I can understand your skepticism. I have also been burned by purchases on Ebay. But hey, only you can hit the Buy button. I was only trying to be helpful.

I just installed mine today and its a nice upgrade from the oem ones you can really notice the differance. Best mod for under 50$ seriously if your complaining about spending 45$ please just put your money back in your pocket. this guy was just nice enough to write up steps on how to install them and it helped me a lot with all the pics thanks for the write up.

This is the best mod for the price out there.

Thanks for putting together such a great post - ordered mine the other day and they look great! Look a lot better than OEM.

5 Watt K32 angel eyes FTW!

They definitely look better than stock and it's the best you can get for $45...

This sucks! Got the new lights but cannot see how this works on the 08 and up models. I ask specifically before purchasing and was told it will work, but cannot see by the other DIY examples that it works on the 08 and newer models. the housing is a bit different and no way to just unplug the bulb. so it looks like I am going to return these 5W unless some ones else wants them. Pissed right now.

Sorry man, I don't think they work for facelift 08+ models... I would have told you but I didn't really think about the year your car was until now.

No worries man. The the e-bay seller should have known this and in fact he advertise on his website that it fits 08 models plus he sent me an e-mail stating that as well.

LCI's require a different plug, but otherwise the systems are the same. You may have to take more stuff off but they'll work. Crack out your wire-stripping skills if you have to!

As far as I can see, everything is in the housing. Once you remove the little access panel, there is no way to get to anything. I think you will have to remove the whole headlight assembly to do any kind of replacement. Unfortunately I have no time to break out my wire stripping skills. Last thing I want to do on a car that is under warranty.
