Thanks man, so far that's basically what I've read. Did you see many issues with lightened flywheels? There are so many cheap options, and the info I've seen so far is all over the place; some say its OK, others say it ruins the tranny & driving experience...

mine had an Exedy clutch and ltw flywheel in it and it was fine, the engine was noticably more responsive. just stay the heck away from manual boost controllers. and blow off valves. the engines do feel sluggish until around 2700-3000k but then the boost kicks in and its like wooooooooooooooosh.

Ok, then I'll probably just stay away from the LTW because that one has a newish clutch.

BOVS steal power because subies use a boost re circulation pipe that recycles the boost between shifts. essentially it takes the boost you could have been using and just vents it out of a cool sounding horn.

Subies seem to be the only other brand that seemingly ALL bmw owners approve of

I'm loving how cheap mods seem to be, even the quality brand name things.

its really growing on me, I could go grab it as soon as this weekend

Mods I know I'd be getting: Grimmspeed catless up pipe, 3" turbo back exhaust, Godspeed coilovers, Software (undecided on brand), and I found some el cheapo 17" CSL type reps with the proper bolt pattern/offset for $220 locally

What tuners are you thinking of?

Nice looking car though, the silver one. I've always liked that body style.

I can't wait to look at this car this weekend. The guy said the price is negotiable, and if I can get it for less than 1k, it would be a steal. Tons of good parts. (It's a 5 speed, too.)

Yea my cousin has the Cobb, only stage one, it's a nice unit. TONS of features. That's what I would personally go with.
