Sama, just remember, without consistent work atm, maintenance has been (nearly) done on your E30.

Actually... My e30 needs a shiitload of work to bring it up to par .

A stock e30 would be more in tact than mine

Well then, give 'er!
Put her up for sale and see if there are any bites. GO into detail on the difficulty of the swap, and how rare it is, and how bulletproof the M50 really is.

But itll be the hardest thing for ME to let this car go .. I mean the e36 was hard only because i've had it for 3 years, but i was done with the car and happy where it was at.. But the e30 is not where i want it to be.

Plus every time I drive it, puts a smile on my face. And it handles just as good, if not better than an e36. Effff my lifffeee

Cause M50s come with the swap from factory

M52 have oil cap in front of the Valve cover

M50 is way back up there like that for example valve cover is painted black too

What Ed said. Definitely an M50.

Still want it, though. Me gusta Avus.

Hahaha, I've been under the bonnet of Bebe too much. The oil cap being in the front looked perfectly normal to me.

Who knows about car lifts? All I know is that after that transmission swap, I really want one.

Seems like a good deal to me

I'd say it is a fair deal. I'm already jealous!

Just make sure to do a search for reviews of it first.

Yeah, not sure I wanna go for it yet. I'll have the cash once I finish the tranny swap, but it could also go towards the engine build...

I love being a teenager. I only have to balance my budget between car stuff and other car stuff

Lucky kid. That'd be no question to me...get the lift. It's usefulness will be there for years and help you on just about every car project. The engine build can wait.

If he can move an engine around, he can move a two-post hoist. They aren't that heavy (we had two of them next to the machine shop). All they take for installation is a concrete slab that is flat and thick enough (~4"). There are leveling provisions built into the post mounts. They don't have to be super precise.

whenever I eventually buy a house, I'm allotting part of the loan for a pole barn with a 2 post hoist.

I don't think it's gonna happen since I don't have a tall garage. There's only 7ft between the ground and garage door motor. With an e36 that's about 4ft tall, that only brings the car 3ft off the ground.

It would definitely help, but not nearly as much as a lift that I could stand under...

I could try, but I have a feeling something might be in the way... like a house foundation or something?
