This would be nice so I could get 30 mpg vs 22 highway lol.

Right?!

I wonder if an E46 330i 6 speed would bolt up to an S50?

I think 5th in my trans is 1:1, and 6th on the E46 is a .85 ratio, so it would defintely help a little, especially if I kept the 3.15 final drive.

I probably wouldn't bother trying to do it soon, since I'm trying to buy another car to daily anyway, but when I get around to motor pullin time in a few years maybe I'll drop one in.

^ Do it, you won't.

That looks remarkably similar to my car when I bought it and presumably it's in equally sh!tty condition, but back in my day you had to pay $7k for a crappy M3.

I'll be doing a 6 speed eventually. I'll use the 3.15 for a while but eventually probably go to a 2.93.

What's nice about the current Covettes is you hit 60mph in first gear, something I would love. Not feasible with V8 torque though.

I think 7 speeds will be the limit, if they do come.

Everything will be going automatic, at minimum 8 speeds there, which they already have. Look a all the "supercars" these days. All autos. Junk.

Yes, but repairing them can be more expensive.

Seems to be kinda sketchy. I like to buy cars where the owner seems to know about his car and put effort in the advertisement. I would pay maybe $2100 for it if he's got records.

Big flags, for me, are the spelling, amount of information given (or omitted), and descriptions of exterior, interior, suspension, engine, any rust, etc...

Stuff like "lil rip in the seat" pushes me away really fast...

Yeah, I was thinking 1700 or 1800. He said it has tein suspension, but didn't say how long it's been on the car. Not even sure if it's worth the time to go look at it...*

Well, the front half of the car being replaced would account for the salvage title. I'd stay well clear on that one.

He'd be lucky to get $2500 parting it out. I'd not consider paying more than $1-1.5k for a not drivable car.
