Just call and ask for the last 7 characters of the VIN. We can tell you from there.

the wiki says nothing about the e24 in m6 format, but with the itb's and front spoiler, it looks to be a very likely original. the vin will be able to tell, though.

still, it's a sharp looking car.

the house, meh,...not so much...

635CSi was the base model the M635 and later the M6 was made from. Both the 635 and M6 were sold in the US, but like the difference between the US and Euro versions of the E36 M3, the US got short-changed in the engine department.

635csi was a precursor to the M6, they're quite different.

The body was essentially the same, but the drive train, particularly the engine, was different.

"BMW Motorsport introduced M 635 CSi in Europe at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1983. It is essentially an E24 powered by the powerplant of the BMW M1 - the M88 (286 PS (210 kW; 282 hp)). Most of the cars were equipped with special metric 415 mm diameter wheels requiring Michelin TRX tires. A catalyzed, lower compression ratio version of the car with the S38 engine (260 PS (190 kW; 260 hp)) was introduced in the U.S. in 1987. All M6 cars came standard with a 25% rear limited slip differential. U.S. models included additional comforts that were usually optional on models sold in Europe such as Nappa leather power seats and a dedicated rear A/C unit with a center beverage chiller. Car and Driver tested a U.S. M6 in July 1987 and achieved a 0-60 time of 6.1 seconds, better than the BMW published 6.4 and 6.8 second times for the European and U.S. versions respectively. 4,088 M 635CSi cars were built between 1983 and 1988 with 1,767 U.S. M6 built."

Notice there was an M635CSi before there was an M6, but they were all built on the same body and chassis.

Actually I really want it. 5spd 525it would be awesome. Too bad I'm already tangled up with this e36 project.

srsly, just saw on the timeline thing at the bottom and didn;t see where 'm6' showed up in the e24 for north america. but we all know how teh interwebz is always true, right??

not sure if that thing is considered an airplane, or more of an ultralight...looks like a lot of fun, though.

wonder what sort of insurance and license is needed...

and a modded e34 touring would be nice. super sleeper, too!!

You're lucky I just spent all my money on a truck .

I would say we should meet up if you come to Lex, but the Bimmer is out until I can afford a new cooling system (fingers crossed thet'll happen in time for Bfest cause I don't want to have to go in a truck )
