Lol WAS trying to sell, because my smog certificate was still valid for about a month and a half, so it was the perfect time to sell it since i wouldn't have to smog the car before i sell it.. Once the 90 days passes of my smog certificate, if have to be responsible of smogging.the car for the new owner.. Plus i was just trying my luck lol wanted something more worthy of a daily driver.. Idkkk then school started and now I'm keeping it lol

And hmm whats exactly wrong with it? I never got to really read into the problem lol

There is a local 2000 zM3 with 56k, with the e36 M3 motor. It was was imported to Canada then exported back. The last owner stripped down to be a track car, had 4 track days, and then lost interest (bought a Porsche instead)...you Canucks, you . The current owner (who seems to be well known in Boston/bimmerforum boards and already has a 2002 'shoe) is putting it back together. It seems to have a lot of wear items already replaced (rear subframe bushings, F/RTABS, etc) and the current owner is beyond anal...but the PO stripped out the dash/door panels, etc...and I'm a bit concerned about having wiring issues down the road and being able to sell it (should the time come) with its history. The current owner has offered to have me talk to BMW Canada, have the BMW dealers write letters, be available for any future purchasers...and we share the same indie mechanic. So he seems to be on the level...but maybe I am too cautious

Or do I just buy an e36 M3 til I can make up my mind

Jen, you got to decide first if you want a street car that's "trackable" or a track car that's "streetable". For the latter you need to think about how often you'll have it on a track (not an autocross course), accessibility to a track(s), and what you are willing to do or tolerate to get it to tracks. As the car gets more track dedicated it gets less and less street drivable. Then comes the concession that it will be a dedicated track car, then the need for a trailer to get it to the track, then the truck to pull the trailer, yada, yada, yada, down the slippery slope.

Ahhhhh gotcha.

Starts and runs for a few seconds then dies. Then after a while went start at all.

Actually, I got as part of the deal when I bought the 328. However, we were unable to pick them up at the time of the sale... 4 weeks later, I finally have them.

He has a receipt here for 200 for the rubber, wheels were originally in the car.
Now it has the LTW reps and these as studded snows.
And I got the car off Craigslist.

For once, I don't even disagree with their asking price. Truly amazing. I have but one qualm though, why buy an M6 new, and then never drive it? I mean I put 3k miles on my beater and my DD in about a month, sharing driving duties. this thing probably belongs in a museum.

Yeah, I have no idea why you'd drop a decent amount of money on a brand new car and then not drive it. Perhaps he thought it would reach collector status all along.

I wouldn't drive that thing 10 feet on those TRX tires. I know they look good, but they are undoubtedly the original tires that came with the car. I wouldn't bet my life or my $65,000 car on 24 year old rubber.

yeah, i guess a lot of drivers up in your neck of the woods like these for snow tires. cheap wheel, y'know??

never drove with snow tires. jersey won't let you run studs...maybe chains. not sure now. hafta check.

anyway, we had some snow and i just drove around on the tires i had. think i have mud & snows on her now.....need to get a matching wheel for a spare, though.


steelies would work for a rally car, too....but i'm dreaming there. ot too many projects going at once.

Damn, that '91 325ix is a good deal. I wonder how hard it would be to perform a manual swap in an ix car. They've got a lot more going on underneath than regular RWD BMWs.

My 6er came with the TRX metrics still on it. The tires had been replaced about 2003. By the time I found it and bought it, the tires had almost no wear (it was parked about 2004-5) but the rubber is cracked and dry-rotted all to heck. I'm keeping the wheels and tires strictly for display, but I wouldn't even roll it around the yard on those tires.
