I didn't even catch the low miles claim.

But yeah, it's a great price and probably well worth it. The mileage really isn't too bad, but definitely not "low".

meh, not as concerned about miles really...i mean, i already have 333k on cadence. and i beat the daylights out of her when i drive.

however, all of the (potential) replacements/donors are either all beat down hard with tons of work that needs to be done in order to make it roadworthy, or are about the same price as this e38.

shadowling isn't a deal breaker, as i believe i would be able to black it out myself, no?? plastidip?? tape?? something...

it's fairly local, so driving it home wouldn't be an issue.

it's not green or silver or beige...

and is an ideal chassis for a spd swap when the time comes.

not so concerned about vanos either, but yeah, would be a nice thing to have. again, not a deal breaker.

drop w/mpars for sure.

besides, i wonder how much cams would be for this beastie??

Actually......131 on a 92 would be lower yearly mileage.

Yeah, I think you should jump on it. There's a company that makes shadowline tape which is what I would recommend for the window surround. You'll probably be better off finding shadowline trim for the rub strips and chrome sections on the top of the front bumper.

True, it's lower (than higher), but he was asking if it's "low", which of course is relative and subjective.

I wonder if Carfax could have a more accurate mileage listing? "Should be around 200" is a worrisome phrase there. But I do like the car and the interior looks top notch.

It's an auto (fail), but not a bad price. Carfax will only have a mileage update from the last time it was smogged (if applicable) and/or it was taken to a shop which reports mileage.

I used PlastiDip on my window trim. Came out excellent!

Wonder how many shops actually do that? BTW I get what you're saying on the auto...but the one would be "for my wife" (that's what she thinks anyay) and she can't drive a 5sp. Although mine is an auto as well. I'll probably just wait.

If she physically could, what better time than now to teach her? I've only had a handful of serious girlfriends. But once I realized that this girl is important to me, I taught her how to drive a 5 speed.

I don't want to be in a life-threatening situation and NOT be driven to the hospital because my girlfriend can't drive my car.

So far I've been successful in not destroying any clutches, and not causing immediate break-ups due to frustrations over teaching someone close to you.

Anyway, I'd give it some serious thought.

I figured it would just be easier to teach my girlfriend how to dial 911 than drive my car.

I dunno what the big deal about teaching someone to drive stick. I've gotten it down to about 1/2 hour of time. I've been teaching a bunch of my friends for $$$ they think it's a combination of magic and top-secret technique.

That's my thought, no point in the car going down with me! Plus we have two other SUVs, both automatics, she could drive one of them. My 328 is my second car, since I drive 30k plus miles a year I split miles between it and my Trailblazer.

That problem I have with teaching people (women) is not how to start, stop, shift, etc. It's how to react in emergencies or what to do if you grab the wrong gear. (money shift)

Those things can't really be taught. If someone slams the brakes in front of me I know exactly how to react because it's my car and I know what it does. If someone else drives it, especially someone who can't drive stick, they could leave it in gear, hit the clutch instead of the brakes, etc, etc.

It's still a car. The brakes are still the brakes, etc. Your case sounds more like trust issues.

You are somewhat right, I just wouldn't trust my GF to know what to do if she went to shift to 5th and hit 3rd instead. Bye bye valves.

If that is what you worry about just tell her to keep it under 100 MPH and and you will be fine.

You really should pick it up. It doesn't have as much torkz since it's pre-VANOS but it's simpler, and as I found out with current 5er, no one currently makes a VANOS kit for the M62TU.
