I actually really like those wheels. The car sucks ass, but the wheels (that are all that's for sale in that ad) are really nice!

Not unless he changed wheels and moved across the country, which I doubt.

Yeah, but I highly doubt any dealer would pay close to $1k to ship a 16 year old E36 BMW across the country, replace the wheels with uglier ones, and then try to sell it for $1800. I don't get why all white '97 328 sedans, with different wheels and new body damage, must be IndianBob's regardless of the state they're being sold in.

No sweat, Patrick. I didn't think you were serious. It was hnaz that I was replying to, and even so, the tone of my post came out more hard-edged than I intended to convey. Should've included some emoticons.

What if they paid less than $900 for it since no one bid on it? And then towed it themselves over? Or what if the auctioneer had it shipped over with their own tow truck?

I'd be curious to bring an OBD2 scanner and check for codes and pending codes.

Too many automatics! That M3 is a pretty good deal though, since an S52 with 100k miles is worth about the asking price of the whole car. Could easily pay for itself if you parted it out.

I know, but if I get another it'll have to be an auto since it'll be my wife's and she has no desire to learn to drive a 5sp. That M3 I was thinking of a flip. 100k in running condition could net me some cash too. Depends on what is "missing". Not sure I wanna drive 4 hours to find out though.

I can tell from the picture that the ant-theft devises have been messed with. That is probably why the car is a non-runner. Then it looks like the thief stole the door panels which on a coupe are going to be a bitch to replace. Other than that and the automatic transmission looks good. If I had 3k I would buy it and fix. Then in the spring I would sell it for a profit.
