Remind me to never buy a Mercedes Benz. For how much I work on computers, I really hate fixing car electrical systems.

Yeah, my roommate and I rebuilt that entire wiring harness from scratch.

Ed, is that a W126 coupe? Looks hawt, I'd like to see more of it.

And yes, Mercedes made some big goofs on the electrical systems on their cars, like using biodegradable wiring. Great idea for when the car is rotting in the wrecking yard, horrid idea when the wiring harness is bio-degrading in your driveway. Then again, go play with an E39, while the wiring is fine, all the modules fail.

Yes, it's my roommates baby. Euro spec 1984 500 SEC factory lowered on Bilsteins with AMG body kit.

He paid $5k for it, after the wiring harness fire his insurance co. paid him $11k. With that and a loan from me he bought his '00 CLK430. He bought the car back from insurance for $300, and we did the restoration.

Hmmm.... For a supposed Euro car, I find it odd that his car has the giant US bumpers with side markers.

We should have a car swap. Just swap cars with someone for a few weeks.

That's one ugly piece of crap right there. Dang! I wish they'd posted a picture of the side and rear. No way that's any sort of BMW. Some bastardized conversion of something else.

Look closely, it IS an E38. I don't know what the f0ck they did to the front though.
